New Administrative Capital is a large-scale project announced by the Egyptian government at the Conference on Support and Development of the Egyptian Economy on March 13, 2015. The new capital is located between the Greater Cairo Region and the Suez Canal Region near the regional ring road and the Cairo / Suez road, and the area is planned to be the seat of Parliament, the Presidency and the main ministries As well as foreign embassies, the project also includes a major park and an international airport. The project is built on a total area of 170,000 feddans.

New Administrative Capital Location & Area

New Administrative capital project is located on the borders of Badr City in the confined area between Cairo / Suez Road and Cairo / Ain Sokhna Road, east of the Regional Ring Road, after New Cairo and the Madinaty and Mostakbal City projects. The site is about 60 km from the cities of Suez and Ain Sokhna, and also 60 km from the heart of Cairo. The area of the Administrative Capital is approximately 170,000 acres.

New Administrative Capital Stages

The project aims to attract about 7 million people in the first phase only, which is built on an area of 10 thousand acres.

New Administrative Capital Most Prominent Projects

New Capital project includes the areas of the northern Mohammed bin Zayed gathering, the conference center, the exhibition city, the government district (it includes 18 ministerial buildings, the parliament building, the presidential institution building and the cabinet building), the residential neighborhood, the medical city, the sports city, the central park on an area of 8 square kilometers, the smart city and the entertainment city. And also real estate projects with multiple services and levels.

Transportation to New Administrative Capital

New Capital site can be accessed through Suez Road, and from there to Jandali-2 Road until completion of Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. While it is planning to implement a railway line that will connect with the Egyptian railway network. As well as implementing an electric train project to link the 10th of Ramadan City and Belbeis with the Administrative Capital. An airport in the project will be implemented on an area of 16 km. Meanwhile, work is underway on the Roads Project of the New Administrative Capital, with a length of 194 km, with the aim of creating new development corridors.


The project is witnessing the construction of a power station with a production capacity of 4800 megawatts, the construction of the Administrative Capital / Badr 500 line of 40 km, and the Administrative Capital / Zahraa Maadi line 4500 with a length of 30 km, and the power station is fed by the construction of a natural gas line of Qatar 32 starting from the line point Abu Sultan / Sokhna, with a length of 65 km and ending inside the New Capital Power Station.

The financial and business district and the skyscraper

The Chinese company “CSCEC” announced the implementation of the iconic tower, the largest skyscraper in Africa, with a height of 385 meters, in the Administrative Capital, in order to mediate the financial and business district, which includes in addition to the giant tower 12 commercial complexes, five residential buildings and two hotels.

Responsible Company

A joint stock company was established to manage the New Capital project with a capital estimated at 6 billion pounds, with shares being shared by the New Urban Communities Authority, the National Service Projects Organization and the Armed Forces Land Projects Agency. The company undertakes planning, construction and development of projects in the new capital. Its board of directors consists of 13 members, including 3 representatives of the Urban Communities Authority, 6 experienced members, and 4 representatives of the armed forces.
